Description:Â Amazing, wheelchair accessible tour in Watford near London
Hogwarts Express, Warner Bros Studio Tour, The Making of Harry Potter
we can definitely recommend the tour to everyone, even those that are not particularly into Harry Potter because it is truly amazing to see how the movie was made.
The sets, costumes, props and special effects are amazing. There are some parts of the tour that might be more difficult to navigate in a wheelchair like cobbled Diagon Alley or spongy surface of Forbidden Forest, but in overall, the accessibility is fantastic and there is lots to see. The green screen area provides visitors with two fully accessible photo opportunities, including the chance to fly a broomstick as members of the cast would have done during filming.
On one of the cars on exhibit we removed the seat in the car, making it possible to get into it with no need to transfer:
There are disabled toilets and a changing room with a hoist on site. Free disabled parking available, closed to the entrance. There is also a sensory room available
** free carer’s ticket **
To get, you need to call the Box Office and it will be added on (proof of entitlement will be required on entry). It takes a few hours to go round. There is a small part of the tour which is located outside.
ASSISTANCE DOGS
If you wish to bring an assistance dog with you for your visit, please ensure you have formal identification for the dog with you.
If your assistance dog is sensitive to smoke machines and/or lighting effects and you would like to avoid this area, please ask one of our Interactors to show you an alternative route during your visit.
If your dog requires a water bowl, please ask a member of staff who will be happy to provide one
WHEELCHAIR
They do require advance notice if you are visiting with 3+ wheelchairs in your group. This is in order for them to manage seating restrictions in the cinema at the beginning of the Studio Tour.
Due to the layout of the attraction, this also means that only a certain number of wheelchair users can enter the latter part of the tour at any given time.
NOT ACCESSIBLE AREAS
- The Hogwarts bridge can only be accessed via a staircase
- The Knight Bus also has a short boarding platform which cannot be accessed by wheelchairs.
- The Hogwarts Expressâ„¢ can be accessed via a staircase
- However, a viewing carriage can be found at the end of the Hogwarts Express
- The green screen- Visitors must be able to transfer themselves on to a broomstick and seatbelts can be provided if required

The room provides a calming environment for those with autism and other additional needs, it contains a Sensory Shell Chair, interactive light box, mirror ball and tactile mirrors.
